ABOUT LAWRENCE COUNTY SHINE CHEER

Stay Humble. Work Hard. Be Brave.

Champion athletes aren’t just born - they’re selected, trained, molded and tested. Cheerleading isn’t an easy sport, but the earlier a child gets started, the more successful they can be at the high school and collegiate level. With LCS, you’re guaranteed to see an improvement in foundational skills, tumbling and jumps, as well as their determination and dedication to something they love. We believe in combining fun with hard work. Your child will learn how to be part of a team, while making friendships that last them a lifetime. Watch your child grow this year both as an athlete and individually, mentally and physically. Will we see you on the mat in 2021?

OWNER & COACH KAYLEE RYNDERS

Program Owner & Head Coach

Hi! My name is Kaylee Rynders. I have been coaching since I was 13 years old, and cheering since fourth grade. I’m the head cheer coach at Bedford North Lawrence high school. I have a competitive cheerleading background, my team went to State Finals my senior year! I’ve truly grown up teaching others and last year saw a huge need for a program like LCS, so I finally kickstarted it in 2019 with a middle school team. After an incredibly successful season, I decided to expand our program to offer teams for ages K-8th. Coaching young athletes is something that brings me joy every single day, but if I’m not coaching you can find me studying for class at IU or hanging out with my pups! I love to stay active, be outside, and travel in my free time!

FAQ

What Would You Like to Know?

IS THIS PROGRAM A GOOD OPTION EVEN THOUGH MY CHILD HAS NEVER CHEERED BEFORE?

Absolutely! We actually prefer beginners and kids that haven’t been coached yet, so we can build a strong foundation from the get go! It’s easier to make good habits than it is to break the bad ones! 😉 For our Mini’s and Youth B teams (ages K-5th grade) you child will fit right in regardless of their skill level. For these teams we are looking for potential and the willingness to learn! Our Youth A team can be a bit more competitive and we have to be more selective due to the large number of athletes who want to participate. For this team, again we look for potential, but a cheer background will set you up for the most success here. All in all, we’re open to anyone and everyone. You’ll never know till you try! And I bet they’re a lot closer to being ready than you think they are, momma 🖤

HOW MANY ATHLETES DO YOU TAKE PER TEAM? ARE THEIR CUTS?

Our standard numbers we follow for number of athletes on each team are as follows:
Minimum of 10Maximum of 24
However, this is not set in stone and if we feel like an athlete is not ready for the program yet, we will suggest another year of preparation and foundational skill work. There is always a possibility of cuts, especially for our Youth A team, but we do our best to give as many kids the opportunity as possible without putting others at a disadvantage.

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROGRAM COST?

While prices fluctuate season to season, for 2020-21, our total price for everything is $550. This includes insurance, music fees, participation fees, uniform, comp fees, etc. We do our best to keep our program affordable for those in Lawrence County and surrounding areas. Typically, we ask that you pay a deposit for half of your entire payment at the Parent Meeting over the summer (ex. $250), then the remaining balance is split up into one payment a month during the first week of each month.

WE DON’T LIVE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, CAN MY CHILD STILL PARTICIPATE?

Yes! While we are based on Lawrence County, we open up our program to surrounding areas. As long as you’re willing to make the drive, we will welcome you with open arms!

HOW MANY COMPETITIONS AND PERFORMANCES WILL WE BE PARTICIPATING IN?

While this does fluctuate from season to season, we guarantee you 6 performances at minimum. These 6 can include local performances, competitions, and exhibitions. We also guarantee you 4 competitions where each team will be scored and given awards.

HOW FAR WILL WE TRAVEL?

Competitions are typically no more than an hour and a half away. We try to stay in Southern Indiana a and Kentucky.
